Swallowing disorders are a pathology present in society, and there is now a growing population of people suffering from this condition. However, the health consequences of this affect not only the individual, for whom malnutrition or dehydration is a threat, but also the social well-being, resulting in increased hospitalisation costs, increased medical costs or increased mortality. The need to implement screening tests, of which the Volume-Viscosity Screening Test (VVST) is one, is therefore noted.
