Psychooncology is a field that combines psychology and oncology. The term was coined by Dr Jimmie Holland, who heads the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Sciences at the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre in New York. In Poland, the forerunner of psycho-oncology is Professor Krystyna de Walden-Gałuszka - President of PIPO.
