ECG or electrocardiography is used in medicine to diagnose heart disease.
A doctor who suspects a patient of having a heart disorder should order an ECG test. A normal ECG recording does not rule out the presence of disease. The finding of electrical abnormalities in the heart may be related to heart disease.
The ECG examination is non-invasive and painless. However, it is worth preparing for it.
Immediately prior to the test, you should not take any physical exercise that accelerates the heart rate. You should also not drink strong coffee before entering the examination room. The patient should be relaxed and de-stressed. The examination involves attaching several electrodes to the chest.
The patient is placed in a supine position on the couch. Before and during the examination, the nurse explains what the patient should be doing at any given time. The examination itself takes a few minutes. The result is recorded in the form of graphical charts. The interpretation of the results will be handled by the doctor, who will explain the electrical recording of our heart. If you have complaints from the heart and vascular system, please contact your doctor.
