Melanoma - considered the most dangerous of the various malignant skin tumours - is currently diagnosed by a histopathological examination of tissue material taken from the patient. However, it is possible that melanoma diagnosis may soon be made in a completely different way, as Australian scientists have developed a blood test that can detect autoantibodies indicating that a patient has this skin cancer.
