Symptoms and course migraine in a child

Factors causing headache can be:

  • stress at school, at home,
  • noise,
  • television,
  • computer games,
  • lights at the disco,
  • hunger.

Don't forget the foods that can be initiators of pain - chocolate, citrus fruit, cream cheese, coca cola.

A migraine attack can be triggered by various factors, which are not always easy to predict and prevent. The most important thing is to watch your child carefully and avoid situations in which attacks occur. Ensure that the child gets enough sleep and rest. Foods that are factors in the onset of pain should be excluded from the diet, but the child should not be starved - hunger can also be an initiator of pain.

Treatment migraine in a child

If a pain attack has already occurred, the child should be moved to a dark, quiet room and pharmacotherapy should be used at the very beginning of the pain. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g. Ibuprofen), Paracetamol, ergotamine derivatives, serotonin receptor agonists (triptans) are used.
