Astrabismus is an eye condition - usually associated with weakness of the eye muscles. A strabismus is not just an aesthetic problem - if left untreated, it can result in many medical consequences. Strabismus is associated with various types of visual impairment (monocular and binocular). The aetiology of strabismus in a child is not precisely known, but it is known that genetically predisposed people who have a family history of strabismus are at risk of developing this condition.
