Schizophrenic-like symptoms, delusions, hallucinations often with fever, disorders of consciousness, hypoventilation, seizures, autonomic system disorders, dyskinesias. Such symptoms are regularly encountered by the modern psychiatrist. However, do they always accompany mental illness? The scientific achievements of the last half-century suggest looking at psychiatrically hospitalised patients with more than a 'wider eye'.
