The development of civilisation takes us to different places and creates different, new situations. It gives better opportunities and improves our lives.
There are two aspects of road accidents. The social aspect, which speaks of the risk to the life and health of the road users (or those involved in the accident). This is an unquantifiable aspect, as the pain, suffering and sense of loss cannot be measured. The second aspect is the economic (material) aspect, where the losses suffered as a result of road traffic accidents are highlighted. The economic impact is not only in terms of compensation or damage repair, but also in terms of the cost of rescuing and treating those injured.[8]
Poland is at the forefront of European countries according to the criterion of mortality as a result of traffic accidents. According to the statistics of the Police Headquarters, 2010 brought 3 907 deaths and 48 952 injured persons as a result of road accidents.[9]

When setting out on a journey, it is worth bearing in mind that our risky behaviour can have tragic consequences, not only for ourselves but also for other road users.
