A headache in a pregnant woman is not a risk to her or the baby and occurs in most women. The key issue is whether the woman has suffered from headaches before (recurrent) or whether it occurs for the first time during pregnancy (rare). If a pregnant woman's headache is a one-off, there is no major problem; if the headaches are recurrent, acute and prevent normal functioning, the gynaecologist will order additional neurological, ophthalmological and also ENT examinations.
