In winter, I rely on warm nutritious meals, warming soups and teas with quince or ginger (+cloves+cinnamon). I do not give up yoghurts and kefirs because, contrary to popular belief, they do not make my body colder but rather stronger.

Instead of reaching for chemical-laden fruit and vegetables, I reach more often for frozen and dried products and pickles, which are great immune boosters. I do not avoid egg and meat dishes, as they give me the strength to cope with the greatest frost. I also remember the value of fish fats and eat salmon and herring with relish.

All year round, I plant sprouts in a sprouter on the windowsill - it's nice to start the day with such a vitamin and mineral bomb - there's nothing like greens from "your own garden". Colourful sandwiches immediately lift the mood. I replace white bread with wholemeal because it is healthier and more filling. When I catch a cold (which, knock on wood, is rare), I eat bean and onion soup or a spicy broth and serve myself garlic sandwiches with dried raspberry tea.
