Knowing a foreign language opens us up to a whole host of new experiences, work opportunities and opportunities to meet people. Communicating freely in a language other than one's mother tongue can be a source of great satisfaction, although many of us have to work hard and be very systematic in order to achieve a level of linguistic freedom. However, research shows that knowledge of second and further languages can literally change the structure of the brain and increase perception, no matter at what age we start our education.
