Sleep in children

Somnambulism (sleepwalking, sleepwalking) in children is not an uncommon disorder. The largest group are children of pre-school and early primary school age. The episode involves getting out of bed (without interrupting sleep), moving around and performing various activities. During an episode, there is usually disturbed consciousness, impaired contact and difficulty waking the child. In most cases, the disorder passes with age.
