Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LMA) is a rare multisystem disorder - mainly affecting women of childbearing age. It can occur as an independent disease entity and also as LMA in the course of tuberous sclerosis (a genetic disorder characterised by the formation of splinter-like lesions in various organs, including hemangiomas in the facial skin).
