Acnevulgaris can affect up to 80% of people between the ages of 11 and 30. Characteristics of this descent include seborrhoea, abnormal keratinisation of the hair follicles, the presence of blackheads, inflammatory lesions and scarring. The chronic course and young age at which acne occurs also makes it a psychological problem.
