I'm writing on the train again. I have to admit it's my favourite place and time. I'm happy to use a pen too, as it has more to it than a keyboard. Outside the window, the September sun is unscrupulously mocking the children locked in school classrooms. To be honest, September is one of my favourite months. Not at all because I have stopped associating it with going back to school.

I won't say that I feel sorry for the children who are learning. I think I feel more sorry for the parents. Why? Because for them, it's often much more stressful. I even already know why this is the case. To correct: I don't know what it's like to be a parent. However, I think it is only clear to parents that the main consequence of missed homework is not a one (also popularly known as a kapa, bludgeon, barrel...). The parent does not know that the child does not understand the terms "lack of knowledge", "gap in the programme", "lagging behind". What's worse, he doesn't even expect that it has already caught up with him. The symptoms are undetectable and (especially among children) unrecognisable. Among them are: missed lessons, missed assignments, missed tests. Probably many more, less known.

While children do not perceive the danger, parents live in constant fear. As a budding educator, I'm going to make a bit of a leap of faith: a parent's approach to their child's schoolwork can work wonders. And believe me: as many parents as attitudes. As you can easily guess, there are the main two: the engaging parent and (what I'm sure no one has guessed) the non-involving parent.

Focusing on the former, I am already explaining what the miracle is. The simplest and most effective parenting method: the method of personal example. In other words: the child sees - the child does. So when mum or dad systematically sits down with the child to do his homework, I can assure you of one thing: the child will not quickly get the idea that the homework is something that cannot be done.
