Breastfeeding

Natural feeding refers to the feeding of babies and young children exclusively with their mother's milk (without supplementary feeding with teas, water or juices), which ensures optimal development and health.

Breast milk contains a set of nutritional values that are well balanced in terms of quantity and quality.

Among the advantages of natural breastfeeding is the protection against immunological and infectious diseases. In addition, breastfeeding is an important element in strengthening the emotional bond between mother and child.

The World Health Organisation and UNICEF recommend breastfeeding the child for the first 6 months after birth and then maintaining breastfeeding for at least 2 years with the inclusion of other age-appropriate foods.

It has been scientifically proven that babies fed with breast milk are healthier and therefore hospitalised less often. The incidence of illness is also lower, particularly in conditions involving the urinary, respiratory and digestive systems (diarrhoea) and inflammation of the middle ear. Breastfed infants have a threefold lower risk of cot death (ISDS).

Breastfeeding has an analgesic effect on painful procedures - blood draws, injections. Breastfeeding also influences the child's later years and reduces the risk of diseases: obesity, overweight, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, atherosclerosis and asthma.
