Breastfeeding

Natural feeding refers to the feeding of babies and young children exclusively with their mother's milk (without supplementary feeding with teas, water or juices), which ensures optimal development and health.

Breastfed babies have a higher intelligence quotient, develop better cognitive abilities and prevent malocclusion. Breast milk has a preventive effect on dental caries and rickets. The advantages of breastfeeding also apply to the mother of the child. Breastfeeding women have a better postpartum period, the risk of postpartum haemorrhage is reduced and the increase in oxytocin (during suckling) accelerates the contraction of the uterus. Breastfeeding allows for faster weight loss and prevents obesity.

A lower incidence of breast, uterine and ovarian cancer has also been observed among breastfeeding mothers. A woman who breastfeeds achieves fulfilment in her role as a mother, thus reducing the incidence of postnatal depression. The hormone that regulates lactation (prolactin) alters a woman's psyche - it has a calming effect, evokes feelings of affection for the baby and soothes moods. Natural breastfeeding pays dividends throughout life: it reduces the cost of medical treatment, doctor visits, medication and sick leave for parents.

Breastfeeding avoids the costs associated with buying modified milk and artificial feeding accessories. In addition, "we know what we are feeding", there is no need to wonder whether the food we are giving the baby is completely safe and free from contamination from production technology. A healthy diet for women (a diet rich in vegetables, fruit and minerals and vitamins) is sufficient.

Breastfeeding is also convenient and practical, because it is accessible to mothers at any time, at home and when travelling. The food is fresh, hygienic and, above all, at the right temperature. Thanks to the convenience of breastfeeding, a woman can be fully active and can enjoy social life, trips, etc. Breast milk is also ecological - it does not produce unnecessary packaging.
