The promotion of an ideal and at the same time unrealistic body image, can lead to a number of mental disorders and distorted perceptions of one's body by the audience of advertisements. These disorders lead to lowered self-esteem and loss of self-identity for women who are unable to achieve the promoted role model. Over time, this problem can lead to a morbid pursuit of an ideal.

However, many contradictions can be found in contemporary expectations. As we all know, pregnancy is associated with weight gain and loss of the former figure. Many women do not return to their former appearance after pregnancy.
