Small-cell lung cancer is the type of respiratory cancer whose diagnosis causes the most concern. There is a reason for this - the condition is usually only diagnosed when the cancer has already spread significantly, in addition to which the prognosis of patients (even those optimally treated) is not good. The most important thing about small cell lung cancer, therefore, seems to be its prevention: is there anything that can be done to avoid contracting this cancer?
