Children during physical education classes

Before the start of the school year, parents, in addition to buying the necessary textbooks and utensils, need to provide their children with the right gym attire. One sports company conducted a survey among PE teachers to identify the most important features of P.E. sportswear.

A well-chosen gymnastics outfit not only determines the effectiveness of the exercises, but also the well-being of the student during sports activities. It is worthwhile for the young athlete to feel comfortable and natural in gymwear.

Physical education teachers asked for their opinion on the sports kit.

Sports shoes

Shoes are one of the most important elements of sportswear. It is the footwear that determines stability and comfort during exercise and team games. 46% of the physical education teachers interviewed considered comfort of use to be the most important feature of sports footwear.

On the other hand, 37% of the respondents paid attention to the rubber sole, which will provide grip to the ground during sports hall activities. 10% of the PE professionals prioritised the versatility of footwear - a student's sports shoes should be suitable for a variety of sports, from football to basketball, volleyball and handball.

Last but not least, it is important for the comfort of exercise to have separate footwear for physical education classes. 97% of the respondents answered that students are obliged to have separate shoes for PE classes, but only 76% confirmed that students comply with this obligation.

T-shirt - white or coloured?

The requirement to wear a white T-shirt and dark shorts to gymnastics classes is gradually becoming a thing of the past. Only 43% of PE teachers surveyed already confirmed such a requirement. 52% of those surveyed said that the colours of gymnastics attire could be varied.

The rest of the statements are divided - some schools have T-shirts with the logo of their institution, or allocate a suitable T-shirt colour for the class (or the students of the class choose it themselves).

It turns out that more important than the colour of the sportswear are its practical features. The gymwear should be well-fitted, not restrictive of movement 59% of respondents) and made of natural, breathable material (41% of respondents).
