Pain accompanies the majority of oncology ward patients at some stage of cancer therapy. In the group of patients with the most advanced disease, more than 70% require continuous analgesic provision. However, in the stage of metastatic disease - especially when the secondary lesions are multiple and localised in the skeletal system - this percentage reaches up to 100 %.
