Cerebrovascular diseases are a group of conditions in which the brain is permanently or temporarily damaged by bleeding or ischaemia.
Symptoms of vascular brain disease
The symptoms that result from damage to the brain by ischaemia or bleeding depend on the location and volume of the area they occupy. Abnormalities that should be consulted immediately with a doctor are:
- paresis, usually hemiparesis or involving one limb
- sensory disturbances
- sudden loss of vision
- problems with speech
- severe headaches and dizziness
- drowsiness, confusion or loss of consciousness
- drooping of the corner of the mouth

Management of brain damage of vascular origin
The most important factor for the success of the treatment process is the time it takes the patient to reach the appropriate centre. First of all, a neuroimaging diagnosis will be carried out, which will show the location and type of damage. The doctor will then decide on the nature of the treatment and implement either surgical or conservative treatment, in the form of medication .
