In children, SARS-CoV-2 infection is most often mild or asymptomatic, but in some cases it can lead to serious complications. Of particular clinical relevance is the multisystem inflammatory syndrome, which can develop after infection and requires intensive hospital treatment due to the possible risk of organ failure. Long COVID, manifested by chronic fatigue, impaired concentration and a reduction in the child's quality of functioning in daily life, is also an increasingly frequently described problem.
