Do you prepare the same set of dishes every year for Easter and are you bored of preparing the same dishes over and over again? If so, here are some tips on how to bring a bit of a revolution to your Easter menu and add some exotic flair to this year's festivities...
Everyone probably has their favourite set of Easter dishes. Delicacies such as sour soup with white sausage, roast pork loin, ham or traditional Easter rolls are a must at your table. However, at this special time, it is worth surprising your family and serving at least one dish which deviates from the canon of traditional dishes.
If you want to enjoy a tasty and exotic dish - instead of the commonly prepared vegetable salad - you can opt for a tasty and easy Asian-style dish.
Here's the recipe: Chicken and avocado salad Ingredients, 2 servings: 2 handfuls of torn lettuce and/or rocket, 1 ripe avocado, ½ carrot, ½ cucumber, 150 g chicken breast, cooked or fried, chives, coarsely ground pepper Sauce Ingredients: ½ cup cream cheese, ½ cup Kikkoman Soy Sauce Toast Ingredients: 2 slices white bread, salt and pepper, 1 tablespoon olive oil
Preparation: Dice the bread, place in a bowl, sprinkle with salt and pepper and mix with olive oil. Place on a baking tray and bake at 180C for 10-15 minutes until golden. Arrange lettuce on serving platters, add peeled and sliced avocado, diced carrots and cucumber. Cut the chicken breasts into strips, arrange on the lettuce, sprinkle with chopped chives and coarsely ground pepper. Add the croutons. Mix the cream with the Soy Sauce and pour over the salad before serving.
A salad prepared in this way is sure to bring a touch of freshness to your kitchen. Easter is just around the corner, so it's worth trying to get at least one innovative dish on the table in addition to the traditional ones. Try it and you won't regret it!
