Azelaic acid has been known for quite a long time, but not everyone knows what properties it has. What do we know about the use of this compound?
Azelaic acid has a very wide range of applications and is very often used in the following treatment processes: acne vulgaris, rosacea papulopustularis, but also in the removal and minimisation of skin discolouration. It also exhibits strong keratolytic effects. It visibly reduces the formation of sebaceous suppositories and also inhibits the growth of bacteria, which contribute significantly to acne formation.
Recent observations also show that azelaic acid inhibits the growth and also the excessive activity of melanocytes. It is used in cosmetology, dermatology and in the production of various creams and body lotions.
