Many patients do not know that they have toenail fungus. The elderly, children but also young people are at risk of this disease. We can get infected with toenail fungus in various places (e.g. swimming pool, sauna, gym, dormitories and many others) but also from other people. Toenail fungus is transmitted from person to person in two ways: I direct, i.e. during contact with a sick person II indirect, when using objects (e.g. towel, brush, nail scissors, file, flip-flops) If you suspect toenail fungus, you should see a dermatologist and use separate objects especially those for personal hygiene.
