A serological conflict between mother and child can imply adverse changes in the child's blood composition. If haemolytic disease or haemolytic anaemia is suspected, laboratory tests are necessary, including but not limited to the Coombs' reaction. This is an antiglobulin test that confirms haemolysis in the newborn.
