Cot death is nothing more than sudden infant death syndrome. To date, it is not known what causes cot death. It occurs quite rarely, and it is important to remember that a baby who is healthy (no illnesses, no birth defects) suddenly dies.

Cot death is when a baby dies in its sleep, but importantly there are no signs to indicate that it is suffering. Factors that increase the risk of cot death includehypoxia or sleeping on the stomach. In fact, it is difficult to prevent cot death because we know too little about it.
