Various skin diseases and the consumption of certain drinks or foods - a topic that is increasingly emerging in scientific research. Recent studies show that drinking alcohol may contribute to the development of psoriasis.
Psoriasis is classed as a fairly common immune-mediated skin condition. Scientific studies and observations by dermatologists show that patients who have psoriasis consume larger amounts of alcohol. Importantly, drinking e.g. drinks or beer is associated with a risk of psoriasis, and those who have it tend to have a worsening of the condition.
Further studies and observations involving patients with psoriatic conditions who consume alcohol are currently underway.
