The agent responsible for the development of gonorrhoea is a small bacterium, a gonorrhea bacillus called Nesisseria gonorrheae. It attacks the tuberous epithelium and that which lines the organs of the genitourinary tract, the anus and the throat. According to scientific studies, drug-resistant gonorrhoea can lead to the death of the affected person.
