Chemotherapy

Cancer chemotherapy is a method of systemic treatment using cytostatic drugs, which most often form part of the overall treatment process. The beginning of cancer treatment using chemicals dates back to the 20th century. This was during the First World War, when it was noted that victims of the use of mustard gas often died as a result of damage to the bone marrow (as is known, leukaemias are proliferative tumours of this very tissue).
