Recent clinical trial results presented at the 17th ESO World Congress on Gastrointestinal Cancers in Barcelona showed that in patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer with metastases present - low BMI is an unfavourable prognostic factor.
It is well known that a high BMI is one of the factors that increase the risk of developing colorectal cancer. The researchers emphasise that the results of this study are very clinically relevant, as body mass index (BMI) is currently an important prognostic factor in patients with this type of cancer.
