Melanoma is a malignant skin tumour that develops from pigment cells. In addition to the skin, it can localize in the eyeball, mucous membranes (lips, palate, anus or labia) and nails. In Poland, melanoma is diagnosed in 4-5 people per 100,000 inhabitants each year.
