Advanced pregnancy

Being overweight has been found to more than double the risk of pre-eclampsia compared to normal weight pregnant women. The risk increases 3-fold for obesity. This is probably influenced by the higher concentration of serum lipid substances in obese women. It is therefore very important for obese women to reduce their body weight before becoming pregnant.
