As cancer is encountered with increasing frequency among humans, more than one researcher is undertaking studies into both its pathogenesis and treatment. There are often very intriguing findings from such work. Recently, a team of scientists from Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore reported that aggressive tumours are linked to a specific neurotransmitter, but even more interestingly, the scientists argued that interactions centred around this particular neurotransmitter could prove to be an effective treatment for certain cancers.
