The cerebellum plays a very important role in the proper functioning of our body.

It plays a particular role in correct speech and balance. When the cerebellum does not work as it should, we are faced with cerebellar syndrome. This is a disease that manifests itself through, among other things: decreased muscle tone, ataxia, balance problems and gait disturbances.

The patient is unable to maintain an upright posture (leaning sideways, forwards or backwards). It is very often accompanied by an intention tremor, a problem with the index finger touching the nose, nystagmus and slurred speech.
