Depression and diabetes are two theoretically completely different entities that ultimately very often go hand in hand. There are indeed many interrelationships linking them, and it is well known, for example, that both diabetes promotes depression and depression promotes diabetes. It is important to detect the existence of these entities in patients as soon as possible - experts report that taking antidepressants for patients who have both diabetes and a depressive disorder reduces their risk of death and of developing diabetic complications.
