The journal Lancet has published an analysis of the course of COVID-19 in children infected with the UK variant. Compared to the data obtained from the previous wave of cases, they show no differences, either in terms of symptoms or the course of the disease itself. Unfortunately, the infectivity of the variant is higher, but the severe course of COVID in children is still isolated. What are the risk factors for a severe course and what should a parent be concerned about?
