Currently, insulin preparations administered by injection are used in the treatment of diabetes - as you can easily guess, this form of administration of these drugs for patients is not very convenient. For this reason, attempts are still being made to develop insulins that can be taken orally. This type of preparation was recently reported in January 2019 in an article that was published in the journal Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology.
