Almost half of patients with operable breast cancer treated surgically die because distant metastases are already present at the time of surgery. This means that the disease was already generalised at the time of diagnosis, and this significantly worsens the prognosis. Therefore, early diagnosis of breast cancer is extremely important. On the other hand, the progress of medicine makes it possible to offer appropriate therapy to almost all patients diagnosed with the disease. It is therefore worth familiarising oneself with the basic treatment methods in order to better understand which therapeutic option is best.
