Coronary artery bypass grafting(CABG) is a cardiac surgery procedure for the treatment of advanced ischaemic heart disease. It involves the creation of 'bypasses' that bypass a coronary vessel narrowed by atherosclerosis. The incidence of depression after CABG surgery is estimated at 8.5-50%. It seems necessary to assess the risk of depression, as its development is not only associated with a worsening of patients' quality of life, but above all with a significant risk of cardiovascular complications.
