- Madzia please speak up, say something to me - for the next two hours still the same request.
It all started like this: a problem arose, a trifle that could be forgotten in five minutes, it was enough to explain the matter, but I couldn't say a word, I remained silent as if under a spell. Do you think I did not know what to say? On the contrary, the answer kept going round and round in my head, but I knew that if I said a single word, I would end up crying, so I kept silent.
More than once, this situation had occurred. It made me think about the exchange of thoughts and how important a place it has in our lives. I think everything depends on it - it affects the bond with our spouse, children, parents, friends or understanding with an employer. The exchange of thoughts can be likened to a cake batter. Every one of us knows that if we throw all the ingredients into a bowl and do not mix them, but pour them immediately into a tin and bake, nothing will come out of our cake, because the essential ingredient of a cake is to mix the mixture thoroughly! It is the same with the exchange of thoughts - it is not enough to throw thoughts like missiles at an opponent in anger, they must be thoroughly mixed.
It seems to me that the ingredients of a conversation are: our views, the views of the opposing party, careful listening, feelings, and the right choice of words. All of these components need to be included in the conversation. It is incredibly important to speak one's own thoughts, but how much more important it is to listen carefully! This is demonstrated, for example, by the child's reaction to the parent's lack of interest. When a child comes to a parent, he or she expects the parent to listen, but if this does not happen, the child will think twice before turning to the parent again, perhaps this will not happen again, perhaps a complete stranger will be the child's secret keeper And what happens when we don't listen to other people around us?
