Eating is one of the greatest pleasures of our lives. But it is not only a pleasure, it is also the art of providing the body with all the ingredients it needs. It is worth realising that what we eat has a great impact on our mental as well as physical health. We only need to remember a few rules in order to harmonise our way of life with food so that they form a harmonious whole.

1. Let's already start with breakfast.
It is important to start our day well. Breakfast should wake us up, it should be energising. Avoid carbohydrates for breakfast as they induce sleepiness. So forget potatoes, pasties and croissants. A bowl of fresh or dried fruit with plain yoghurt, whole-grain toast and a glass of juice, multigrain cereal with milk, fruit and nuts is a great idea for a lively and healthy breakfast. After such a meal, we will be recharged with energy for several hours.

2. Stress at work
We are all exposed to stress from time to time - it is intrinsic to modern life and cannot be avoided. A well-thought-out diet will give us the energy we need to face adversity. In times of stress or tension, we often reach for foods high in fat and sugar. Sweet things have a calming effect as they trigger insulin and increase serotonin levels in the brain. So let's be prepared and keep a so-called anti-stress snack on hand, e.g. a bag with a mixture of nuts and dried fruit in a desk drawer. This simple and tasty snack not only provides the body with plenty of energy and protein, but also has a beneficial effect on the heart.
