Examining samples under the microscope

In Poland, 30 people die of colorectal cancer every day, and the number of people who undergo preventive examinations for this disease is very low. Meanwhile, as experts of the "Mam Haka na Raka" Programme convince, a colonoscopy examination can protect us from the disease.

As society's awareness of preventive examinations is very low and the incidence of colorectal cancer in Poland is rising - it has become the theme of the fifth edition of the Nationwide Youth Programme "Mam Haka na Raka". Nearly 4,000 young people joined the fight against cancer. More than 550 of the most active participants from all over Poland then took part in the 'Find a Cancer Hook' competition and prepared a design for a social campaign encouraging people to have a colonoscopy.

The aim of the young people is to convince the public that early detection of cancer increases the chance of a complete cure. Participants developed their own campaign slogan, a poster, a radio spot and a TV spot with a coherent message. The winning campaign will be announced on 25 June this year at the Final Gala in Warsaw.
