Epidemiological studies assessing the prevalence of health problems in a population are used to plan the health policy of countries. On their basis, not only the prevalence of individual diseases is assessed, but also the demand for medical services in the future, which involves funds, the organisation of a network of medical facilities, and the training of personnel.
