The first warm days are long behind us. Before we know it, boots, boots and pumps will be replaced by sandals, flip flops and stiletto heels. If you want your feet to look great in them, it's time to take care of it now! Here's how to usher your feet into summer step by step.

Step one - visual inspection

To begin with, it's worth determining what condition your feet are in after winter. This is the worst time of the year for them - they freeze during cold weather, dry out during long, hot baths and lack oxygen when hidden under thick socks and heavy boots. In addition, in winter we rarely walk barefoot, even in our own flat, which does not do their circulation any good. The most common post-winter sins are therefore dry, rough and reddened feet. Some people also develop corns, ingrown toenails and even fungal lesions. Get rid of your shoes and socks temporarily and take a close look at your feet. If any of the above problems apply to you, take an evening off, prepare some essential cosmetics - and get to work!

Step two - foot regeneration

One of the most pleasant stages of a home pedicure is a foot bath. Not only is it excellent for regeneration, it also relaxes and removes fatigue. Fill a bowl with water at a temperature of about 40 degrees Celsius. Remember that the water must not be too hot, as it will excessively soften the skin of the feet and make it red.

Sprinkle table salt or cosmetic salt into the bath. You can also add aromatic oils as desired: tea oil has an antibacterial and antiperspirant effect, lemon oil refreshes and improves circulation, and lavender oil soothes. After a few minutes, take care to remove the keratinised skin from the heels and instep of your feet. A pumice stone or a special foot grater will help you with this. You can also make a homemade scrub using sugar (simply mix it with a little olive oil and lemon juice).

Soak your feet in the prepared bath for about 10 minutes. After this time, dry your feet thoroughly, paying special attention to the spaces between your toes. Also take care of your nails if they need it. Shorten the nail plate (remember to cut the nails square to prevent ingrown nails), file out uneven areas and remove cuticles.
