Holidays

The holiday season is in full swing. The weather does not spare us the opportunity for weekend trips out of town and travel agencies attract us with attractive travel offers. Unfortunately, the beautiful holiday moments are often interrupted by unpleasant infections. How, then, can we protect ourselves from ailments of the genitourinary system, which is particularly prone to infections during summer trips?

Swimming pools, beaches and swimming pools are full of all sorts of surprises, often leaving a trail of unpleasant symptoms and discomfort for months to come. Summer is a time when it is particularly difficult to maintain intimate area hygiene. On hot days, our skin reacts to the temperature and the synthetic swimming costumes we wear do not help it breathe.

It is worth remembering that by using damp towels and sponges you may expose yourself to dangerous yeasts and bacteria that cause dangerous infections. That is why gynaecologists are already reminding us about intimate health prophylaxis - excessive humidity and overheating of the genitourinary area promotes serious diseases, with which we usually end up at the gynaecologist right after a dream holiday...

Breathable underwear

A staple in hot weather - also very important when travelling. Choose breathable underwear made of natural fabrics (e.g. cotton). Artificial fibres act like a bandage, chaffing your skin. Try to wear bottoms and leave thongs for special occasions, as they provide no barrier to bacteria.

the "hygienic" woman

Moist intimate hygiene wipes are a straightforward necessity during a long journey. They enable the skin to be refreshed quickly and effectively. Use them as often as you feel the need. Reach for them after every visit to a public toilet to further protect yourself from fungal or bacterial infection. The wipes effectively remove bacteria and cleanse the skin thanks to their special liquids. Enriched with chamomile extract, they soothe irritated skin and prevent the growth of bacteria.

Troublesome holiday souvenir: a woman's examination of conscience

According to medical sources, up to 33% of women may be affected by 'holiday souvenirs' in the form of discharge, itching or infections of the reproductive tract (bacterial vaginal infections, yeast infections and protozoal infections) - this percentage rises to 44% in the menopausal age. Each of us is therefore exposed to various forms of unpleasant discomfort. This makes it all the more important that we take particularly effective care of our "feminine" concerns during the holiday season.

Unfortunately, the statistics are frightening - Polish women tend to visit the gynaecologist only when there are problems. Only 25% of women visit the doctor once every six months and 38% once a year. As many as 25% of women do not have regular cytology and 6% have never been to a gynaecologist. We do not realise how important it is to maintain intimate health in order to feel fully feminine.
