Depression in pregnant women

The risk of complications during pregnancy is higher in women hospitalised for eating disorders diagnosed before pregnancy than in women who have never suffered from this type of disorder. The risk of giving birth to a low birth weight baby is twice as high in women with a history of an eating disorder than in women without an eating disorder.

The study was conducted on a group of 302 women (hospitalised before pregnancy due to eating disorders) who gave birth to 504 children and a control group of 900 women who gave birth to 1552 children.
