It was already known from the beginning of the pandemic that some people were more likely to become seriously infected and die if they contracted Covid-19 than others. Factors such as age or concomitant illnesses were most often discussed. Rarely was mental disorder considered as one of the factors. Nevertheless, researchers have shown that it is people with mental health disorders who are almost twice as likely to die from Covid-19 as healthy people.
