Staphylococcus aureus is a small, spherical-shaped bacterium that has the ability to form so-called clusters. This staphylococcus can lead to various infectious diseases in children. This bacterium is actually present everywhere (soil, water, air, milk, dairy products).
It is very important to prevent infection, especially in children, as staphylococcus can penetrate damaged mucous membranes or skin and lead to the development of an infection. Symptoms of infection include purulent lesions visible on the child's body, fever, headaches and problems with food intake.
The child may also be a carrier of staphylococcus. In the case of skin lesions it is necessary to wash them with soap and water or any other product recommended by the doctor and to take care of the child's hygiene (bedding, towels, clothes, air, food). If the lesions on the mucous membranes or the skin recur or do not heal easily, the doctor may prescribe an antibiotic.
